The Unique All Business Class Airline

Paris CDG and New York JFK—Connecting world capitals.

As I mentioned last Friday, we filed our application for route authorization with the US DOT. I’m elated to tell you—in our application, we state that our initial service will connect Paris and New York. John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport will be the base of our New York operations. As for Paris, we have slots—that’s airline lingo for take-off and landing spots—at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport.

I can’t think of a better way to launch our new airline then by linking two of the world’s business and cultural capitals together. So no matter what type of business you’re in, we’ll get you there rested and ready for that meeting—or for that fantastic cuisine, museum exhibit, or stroll along the Seine.

We also plan to be the first airline to have 180° flatbeds in business class between Paris and New York. But no matter which of our classes you fly, a fresh approach to personalized service and premium comfort are part of the experience.

How will this initial route compete for passengers currently flying CDG-LHR-JFK on BA?

Great news! BA flat beds is clearly an upgrade cp to what is offered by AF or AA on the route. However, one area where I think you need to do better than the LHR – JFK route is the food offered in Club World. In my view, the main course is often not more inspiring than an ASDA ready made micorwave meal (ie not M&S) and easily beaten by either AA (generous portions of comfort food but well done) or Air France (well prepared dishes with style). Can not be that much of an investment and makes a difference on a long flight. Also skip the plastic wrapped sandwiches as a snack but keep the scones …

Why not a Uk based airport? And will you be offering connecting flights then? Lastly what are your estimated prices!

Finally a carrier offering a premium economy product from Paris to the US! I look forward to trying it. Unfortunately, I fly mostly between Paris and Montreal… Maybe a good idea for a new route if the open skies agreement ever expand to include Canada!

    Looking forward to trying you!

Lex, why even bother thinking about a UK airport? We’re not trying to create a second British Airways here.

    Dear Dale,…
been working for the airline industrie for several years now and am excited to read, that so many people out there are really concerned about polution and environmental issues.
Keeping in mind, that emissions from aviation are an increasingly hot topic in the drive to contain global warming. The growth of air passenger traffic means they will zoom up to become an increasingly large proportion of the total in the coming decades!!!
After 9/11 BA was the first airline to increase security standards on the ground and in the air. Customers now are aware, that all possible is done for the security part. We all know about No-Frill carriers… and now, the great idea of openSkies! Service, service, service… wow! Awesome! Something I have been waiting for!
But honestly, that is not really something new, is it?
Why not be the first airline, that PRO-ACTIVELY ‘helps’ the climate to cool down, rather than buy their way out of it like it has been done before? I give X-amout of moneys to some research group and feel better about the production of greenhouse gaseous, such as carbon dioxide and methane gas. It is simply done and with the positive spirit, to be the best and most customer-oriented airline – we should be concerned about their (and our) environment as well… and openSkies should (and can – with only 1 aircraft so far) take this opportunity to be the first off the mark !!!
I am looking forward to be reading your reply to this subject, as I know you care!

Perhaps I missed this; will OS be linked to OneWorld? The ability to earn miles on JFK-CDG and have an option other than AA would be positively WONDERFUL.

If your first departure airport is Paris and your second will be Brussels do you not think it would make commercial sense and be good for thne image to have this site up and running in French and Flemish?
If you really want to capture the European markets you have to speak the same language – it can rile people more than you think if you do not.

Actually, you’re not the first to offer flat beds in business on CDG-JFK: AF’s second generation new J class is flat also, but not offered on all aircraft.

Will flights be fully part of OneWorld? Can I use a DONE4 RTW fare and include CDG-JFK?
