DOT says we’re A-OK!
Yesterday we received the approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Paris’s Orly airport. I’m really grateful for their thoughtful and expeditious handling of our application. A lot of hard work has gone into getting to this point, and we still have a lot more to do to ensure both a successful launch and an airline that lives up to our high expectations.
So where exactly are we in the process? Well, to use a flying metaphor, we’re now taxiing from the gate and heading toward the runway for take-off! Our first official flight is planned for mid-June, which is quickly approaching. We’ll be able to be more precise with timing next week.
The good news is we’re now able to start setting fares, flight schedules and soon taking reservations.
You might be asking the same questions as Guillaume and Quentin. When (and where) can I see all this information?
You’ll be able make a reservation, find flight schedules, and even get a special launch offer at our new website, which will be up and functioning in the next few days at this URL www.flyopenskies.com.
I’ll still be bringing you updates on our blog, which will be accessible via the new website.
OpenSkies airline is now a reality. That doesn’t mean we won’t have more to talk about. There is a ton more news I want to share, like all the details about our catering, concierge service, inaugural flight, and launch celebrations.
